  • Level 3 Engineering Maintenance Technician (EMT for short)
  • September 2026 start (3-year course)
  • £9.50/hour (£18,525/year) and 37.5 hours/week 7.30am to 3.30pm

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Follow health and safety regulations and processes to maintain safe working practices throughout the factory.
  • Assist in all stages of the build process across various departments.
  • Learn to safely operate and maintain power/air tools.
  • Use these tools on assembly tasks such as cutting, drilling, screwing, and fixing.
  • Follow instructions and work efficiently to complete assigned tasks.
  • Support manual handling of build components to assist with production.
  • Preparing metal parts by cleaning, measuring, and aligning two or more components.
  • Perform quality checks on assembled components to ensure standards are met.
  • Participate in hands-on training, as well as any classroom or workshop activities.
  • Work closely with mentors and the leadership team to develop task-specific skills plus professional conduct in the workplace.
  • Maintain a positive attitude, and show a desire to learn and grow within the role.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS REQUIRED

  • Entry requirement GCSE grade 4 in Maths + English desirable
  • A keen interest in trailer manufacturing and the desire to learn the industry’s techniques and processes.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work in a team.
  • Strong commitment to safety and quality.
  • Excellent communication skills and a positive attitude.

Build a strong understanding of engineering principles, tooling and manufacturing operations.

FABRICATION & ASSEMBLY SKILLS
Learn how trailers are assembled using industry standard techniques and develop practical skills through hands-on training, working alongside experienced operatives.

MENTORING & DEVELOPMENT
Receive continuous support, guidance and coaching from engineering professionals.

AT COLLEGE YOU WILL…

TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE

BLOCK RELEASE TRAINING
Combine classroom learning with practical workplace experience. College sessions occur every 6 weeks for 3 days, delivered on site in Tiger’s training facility or at Total People’s Wythenshawe campus.

Working together, both Tiger Trailers and Total People will build confidence, competence and evidence to achieve your end-point assessment.
