In September, Tiger Trailers of Road One proudly hosted leading blood cancer charity DKMS at their site for a full day in support of Blood Cancer Awareness Month. An impressive 84 Tiger employees were swabbed and added to the blood stem cell donor register, helping DKMS in their mission to delete blood cancer.
Blood cancer is the 5th most common cancer in the UK and the 3rd biggest cause of cancer deaths. It’s also the most common cancer diagnosed in children. Each year, over 2,000 people in the UK desperately need a stem cell donation to survive, yet only 7% of the population is registered as a potential donor. Every new registration could save a life.
Tiger encourages other BID members to consider hosting a DKMS donor registration event at your workplace. It’s a simple way to make an extraordinary difference.
