Changing Lives in Cheshire, a charity and social enterprise on Winsford Industrial Estate has been shortlisted for a prestigious National Award – the “SEUK 2014 award for Environmental Social Enterprise of the Year” – the winners of which will be announced at a special ceremony on the 26th November later this year. Held at the London Symphony Orchestra St Luke’s, hosted by comedienne Sue Perkins and sponsored by The Independent, the event promises to be a star studded occasion for all involved.
The charity works hard to facilitate the reuse and recycling of any donated furniture and electrical items at affordable prices, providing items to up to around 40 families per week who are in desperate need of assistance. The venture also creates a supported working environment and provides an opportunity for members of the community who may need help, such as individuals with physical or learning difficulties or those on community playback schemes.
