Safety Shield Global has continued to break new ground through its innovative life-saving AI technology after a summer which saw the business earn Royal approval and expand into new offices.
As founder Jonathan Guest spoke of his ‘unforgettable honour’ in meeting His Majesty, King Charles III at a special reception for winners of this year’s prestigious King’s Awards, his Safety Shield team were settling into their new surroundings on Road 5.
The Royal event at Windsor Castle in London was hosted by the King and attended by business leaders from around the country who had been recognised for their innovation and excellence.
Considered to be the highest commercial accolade possible for any UK business, the King’s Award was presented to Safety Shield Global for its ground-breaking work in developing an Artificial Intelligence safety system for plant machinery which is now utilised on construction sites around the world.
Following the huge success and rapid growth of the business, the Safety Shield workforce has doubled with 16 new appointments made across a wide range of positions, while the new premises have provided sufficient space to accommodate what has quickly become a global operation.
Speaking of his meeting with King Charles III, Jonathan comments: “Meeting and shaking hands with King Charles and discussing how Safety Shield is leading the way in construction site safety and innovation and the reasons for winning the Kings Award was a surreal experience that I will cherish forever.
“This has been a memorable few months for Safety Shield and is testament to the on-going hard work and dedication of our ever-growing team. They can feel rightly proud of what we have all achieved as a team.”
Since moving into Road 5, Safety Shield has embarked on a complete overhaul of the premises using local tradespeople and businesses to carry out the work as they prepare for future expansion.
