What the role entails:
As a Sourcing Specialist, your primary responsibility will be to identify and acquire new customers across various industries for our plastic and paper recycling operations. Your key focus will be sourcing low-density polyethylene (LDPE) film, which can be processed through our in-house recycling system.
Your duties will include:
Proactively seeking out potential customers who generate plastic and cardboard waste suitable for recycling.
Conducting thorough site inspections to assess the quality and quantity of materials available from prospective customers.
Continuously expanding your customer portfolio by adding new sources of recyclable materials.
Maintaining regular communication with existing customers to ensure a consistent supply of materials.
Negotiating favourable terms and pricing agreements to maximize profitability.
Collaborating with internal teams to ensure efficient material collection and processing.
Staying updated on industry trends, regulations, and market conditions to identify new opportunities.
Key responsibilities include: prospecting via calls and emails, visiting prospects, signing up new clients, quotations, Account management , site audits, reporting, using MS software, responding to sales leads and general office duties.
Ideal candidate skills and requirements: Business Development/sales experience ideally in the waste and recycling industry. Driving licence is essential.

As a Sourcing Specialist, you will be to acquire new customers to provide our Winsford depot with increased tonnages of plastic and paper grades for recycling. This role will be based at the Winsford depot but will also involve frequent travel to visit prospective customers and conduct on-site prospecting activities across the surrounding areas.
